Lekki Gardens Boss Richard Nyong Released On Bail After Being Remanded In Jail Over Building Collapse

Richard Nyong was arrested on March 11 for the collapse of the five storey building in Lekki that killed about 35 people.<br />

<b>Chief Superintendent of Police Mr. Eno-Edobor Thomas had requested
 that Nyong remained in jail while investigations were concluded but a 
Magistrate court in Ebute Metta granted him bail. OAP Freeze also 
confirmed his release.</b><br />

 granted bail! GOD is indeed faithful. Like I earlier said, I am not 
saying he shouldn’t be tried, my emphasis lies greatly on a fair trial, 
without stripping away his dignity. Also the alleged human rights 
violation/abuse reported in this case (which I won’t talk about in this 
post) is another thing I am absolutely against!<br />

 is concerned for the welfare of young women and in that vein paid a 
visit to Queens College on a fact finding mission over the curious case 
of Mr. Seni Oshinfala the teacher who was alleged to have se’xually 
harassed female students. Over the weekend, a parent reportedly known as
 Chinenye Okoye, whose child was a student at the school, wrote to 
blogger, Olorisupergal, accusing Oshifala of assaulting her child and 
the school authorities for trying to suppress her complaints. Yesterday,
 some Queens College students reportedly staged a protest in support of 
the teacher’s innocence. However, the ‘tales’ by some of the school’s 
alumni, in addition to numerous reports, suggest otherwise.<br />
<br />
In her continued quest to curb the incessant rape and abuse in Africa, 
the Founder of Passion Against Rape and Abuse in Africa (PARA Africa), Foluke Daramola
 alongside her celebrity sister, Titilayo Oshodi, visited Queens 
College, as they investigate the case. But the multiple-award winning 
Actress and Social Activist confirmed that the situation is still Iffy, 
as the school authorities claimed that the person who threw it open to 
the social media is still facially anonymous.<br />

A fracas that turned into dramatic shooting has been caugth on camera
 in Detroit, Michigan state, USA. The footage of the incident that was 
leaked online shows a young woman pulling a gun from her mini-skirt and 
pointing it a male driver sitting in his car.<br />

She then pulls the trigger and shoots the man multiple times at <span class="hvr">point-blank</span> <span class="hvr">range.
 Miraculously, the driver somehow survives the attack and even manages 
to knock one of the gang members to the ground while trying to drive

The next moment the woman is also knocked down and loses her gun, 
whereupon two cars — believed to belong to two rival gang groups 
–fleethe scene. Police were onto the shooting immediately, they also had
 a clear identification of the female suspect, aged 20, but didn’t 
release her name.<br />

A 27-year-old victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening 
injuries. Within two hours of sending the images to the media,the woman 
was detained on her way out of town, after a viewer recognized her and 
called police. She is currently in police custody.<br />

 grinding conflict between the Nigerian state and Boko Haram insurgents 
has exacted a devastating human and economic toll over the past six 
years.<br />
<br />

But for Nigeria’s first car manufacturer, the crisis may represent an opportunity.<br />
<br />
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) recently announced a partnership deal with Innoson
 Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM), which will see the company supply spare 
parts for jets conducting airstrikes against the insurgents.<br />
“The ingenious effort by IVM is instrumental to the continued operation 
of the Alpha Jets,” NAF spokesperson Ayodele Famuyiwa said of the deal. 
“IVM helped to save the day when help was not forthcoming from abroad.”<br />

The air force reached out to Innoson
 in 2015, as it faced increasing difficulty with the import of vital 
parts such as brake pads. The deal was struck after a series of site 
visits around the country.<br />
“The army came to our factories in many states,” says Innoson spokesperson Cornel Osigwe. “They saw we had the capacity.”<br />
<br />

IVM, part of the Innoson
 Group owned by billionaire Innocent Chukwuma, started producing 
commercial vehicles such as coaches in 2007, before launching a range of
 private cars in 2014 — the first to carry a “Made in Nigeria” seal.<br />
<br />
The offshoot company now employs over 7,000 people and has capacity to 
produce 10,000 cars a year. It is hoped that the partnership with NAF 
could help the business expand further.<br />

spokesperson, including the National Assembly. Leading politicians such

Osigwe hopes that high profile supporters will help the company make inroads with the wider public.<br />
<br />
“If the government patronize Innoson, individuals and companies will follow,” he says.<br />

Home advantage<br />
<br />

As Nigeria continues to suffer from falling oil revenues that are 
devaluing its currency, the Naira, the government is making efforts to 
build up the domestic manufacturing sector and reduce dependency on 
imports.<br />
<br />
The government-promoted Twitter campaign #BuyNaijaToGrowTheNaira has 
been enthusiastically adopted by the public, trending on several 
occasions over the past month.<br />

Innoson has featured prominently in the campaign, with indications that the company is gaining recognition.<br />
<br />
A recent poll from news site YNaija showed that 60% of respondents would choose the Nigerian-made cars.<br />
<br />
IVM is now seeking to capitalize on the current momentum. The company is
 planning to increase its manufacturing capacity from 10,000 to 50,000 
vehicles per year, including of new, lower cost cars to reach a broader 
market.<br />
<br />
Collaboration with the NAF will also expand for research and supply. As 
patriotism grows across Nigeria, this could prove a crucial selling 
point.<br />

<b>Ibinanbo Fiberesima has finally been stripped off her AGN Presidency after a fierce legal battle between herself and Emeka Ike.  </b><br />

<b>Ibinabo who is facing a 5-year jail term over the accidental death
 of Dr. Suraj Giwa in a car crash which happened 10 years ago has been 
asked to step down as AGN President.</b><br />

In a statement issued by the National Secretary of AGN, Femi 
Durojaiye, the actress who is the current president will step down while
 Emeka Ike takes over as the new president.<br />

The statement read:<br />

<blockquote>
“The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, this morning 
23/3/2016 at the application and argument of Counsel to Actors Guild of 
Nigeria, Barr. Peter Andor Oboyi, struck out Ibinabo’s and BOT suit 
challenging the nullification of her election to the Presidency of AGN 
and also challenging the legitimacy of the Presidency of Emeka Ike and his Exco. The implication of this judgement is that Engr. Emeka Ike led Exco remain the only authentic and lawful leaders of Actors Guild of Nigeria,”<br />
“The Honourable Court vehemently reiterated the position of the judicial
 authority that, Ibinabo, her purported exco members and the Board of 
Trustees vacate forthwith the office of AGN both at the National and 
State level and accordingly surrender all AGN assets at their unlawful 
possession to the incumbent Engr Emeka Ike’s Government.”</blockquote>

It will be recalled that months back a cry for help was raised for a 
conjoined twins born at Enugu and actress Caroline Dajuma was willing to
 help and even asked the public to also assist.<br />
<br />

Well…according to her now, the twins are still been held at the 
hospital and efforts to reach them has proved abortive, rather the 
hospital is asking for N5m as published in a newspaper. The actress has 
now released a press statement calling them out. Her statement below:<br />
<br />

“My little angels are 4 months old today … Unfortunately I have to speak up on behalf of this kids and the parents.<br />
<br />

The hospital they are in right now are bent on operating on them when they don’t have the equipments.<br />

Hospitals in Texas and Canada have asked for their MRI scan and CT 
scan to see if they can assist this children but the hospital in Enugu 
has refused to give it to them , when I personally called a certain prof
 obiayo she asked me what the hospital abroad needed it for. What a 
funny question.<br />

The hospital went as far as publishing in the newspaper that they would need 5m for the surgery without informing the parents .<br />
<br />

“To them it’s all about the money. The mother has been crying for 
fear of loosing her daughters. The hospital has refused to communicate 
with the parents but are only concerned with making a name and money 
through this innocent babies. Giving out their personal bank Acc without
 the consent of the family . They said we should keep the kids in the 
hospital for 9 months before operation by my<br />
research those babies don’t need to stay for that long if they ain’t 
sharing any organs. This babies are handed over to student doctors and 
that scares me most.<br />
<br />

“I have decided to voice out cause I have been the one consoling the 
parents since I got involved but right now I am extremely livid at the 
selfishness and non caring attitude of the doctors. The parents can 
speak for themselves . Hopeville foundation will continue to do its best
 .<br />

Unfortunately the hospital in Enugu is refusing to assist.<br />
<br />

“Pls help Mrs Mary ayeni smile again. She is a God fearing woman and 
certainly has gone through a lot . I plead with Nigerians to tell the 
hospital in Enugu to release this children’s medical records to 
hospitals that are willing to assist. This babies are not lab rats they 
deserve to live.<br />
We are willing to work with the hospital in Enugu as a TEAM but we 
refuse them taking out the operation all alone without equipments and 
the right professionals.<br />
<br />

“They have a right to live. Pls help Mrs ayeni and her family.<br />
<br />
Pls kindly make this viral until Mrs Ayeni is heard and attended to 
properly. This babies deserves the best medical care . Thank you all.”</div>
