Kid Cudi's long-awaited Indicud album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, selling 136,000 copies in its first week (coming in just behind Fall Out Boy's Save Rock and Roll with 154,000 units).
Cudi's third solo release missed out on the top spot when Indicud sales dipped over the weekend, but second place is nothing to scoff at. His last solo album, Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, debuted at No. 3 despite beating out Indicud with 169,000 copies sold in seven days.
The Ohio native's chart success also helps to mark a milestone in the trajectory of his career. Weeks before unveiling the project, Cudi announced that he was no longer signed to G.O.O.D. Music.
He parted ways with Kanye West's imprint to focus on his own label, Wicked Awesome.
