Danny Drinkwater and Riyad Mahrez have been excellent this season

They are riding high at the top of the Premier League, but that hasn’t turned Leicester City’s stars turning into, well, stars.
Four players from Leicester’s table-topping team were refused entry into a London nightclub on Saturday while players from Tottenham were welcomed with open arms.

The Mirror reported that Danny Drinkwater, Andy King, Matty James and Ben Hamer were trying to celebrate Drinkwater’s 26th birthday at Mayfair club Drama, but had to step aside as Hugo Lloris, Eric Dier and Nacer Chadli entered the fancy club.

The whole country is cheering Leicester on in their bid to upset the established order but despite Drinkwater’s heroics at the heart of midfield, Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez are the most recognisable figures from the team.

Maybe if either of those two players, who will be in the running to be crowned Player of the Year, were present, Drinkwater and co. wouldn’t have had to face the humiliation of being turned away.

They had dressed up for the occasion, too, making it all the worse. Following a hard-fought 1-0 win over Watford, which extended their lead at the top of the table to five points, all Leicester’s players wanted was to celebrate.

They even had to stand and watch as Tottenham’s players were allowed in. The trio had a little less to celebrate following their 2-2 draw with Arsenal, in which they conceded the lead despite playing against 10 men.

Fantastic Foxes

Leicester’s players left in a taxi but they certainly wouldn’t trade positions with their Tottenham rivals. Lloris and co. are Leicester’s nearest challengers but the Foxes do not look like a team that will slip up.
