Arsene Wenger has revealed that he is set to add two
players to his much criticized Arsenal team – even if
it means spending big.
The Frenchman has not made any signings in the
January window, even as his team continue to fall
away in the race for the top spots in the Premier
League. A 2-0 home defeat at Emirates last Saturday
further led to more dissent amongst the fans, who
are not satisfied with the crop of players in the
current team and have been crying out for new
signings.
Wenger, who has been linked with Barcelona's David
Villa, Wilfried Zaha and other players, says he is now
ready to deliver those signings.
"We want to add two new players, and we are willing
to spend big," Wenger said in the interview, which is
not yet available on the Al Jazeera site but which was
replayed by TalkSport.
"We have been restricted financially because of the
stadium – that is now coming to a close."
