the first player to score 10 goals in the group stages.
Ronaldo achieved the feat when he scored his third goal against Malmo, and followed it up with a fourth layer.
The record was held by both Luiz Adriano and Ronaldo last season with both boys sitting in front with 9 goals.
This will be the fifth time the Portuguese international has made the cut for highest goalscorer in the group stages
In scoring the 50th-minute goal that took him over the record, Ronaldo followed up earlier strikes in the 37th and 47th minutes for an 11-minute blitz, the fastest hat-trick that any Madrid player has scored in Europe since 1968.
He then followed it up with a fourth just eight minutes later. Taking his goal tally to 11 goals in this seasons uefa champions league.
