Fans of Lil Wayne will likely recall an incident during
last year's NBA playoffs when the Young Money CEO
was denied entry into the Oklahoma City Thunder's
arena. The rapper, who's an avid fan of NBA games,
made it into the Miami Heat's arena yesterday to
catch them play the Los Angeles Lakers, but he didn't
end up staying long for the second half.
According to Tunechi, his early departure from the
basketball game was not voluntary. In a tweet last
night the MC wrote, "So I'm @ da Heat game right,
rootin 4 da Lakers kuz dats my team & would you
believe they got police 2 make me leave? Wow! F#€k
da Heat."
According to TMZ, the Heat are denying Wayne's
claim that he was forcibly removed from Miami's
American Airlines Arena. A rep for the team stated,
"In response to your inquiry, please note that Lil
Wayne was not ejected from the building. He chose
to leave."
A fan in attendance at the game however has a
different account of why Weezy was ejected from the
building. According to the fan named Danny Vega,
the incident occurred as follows:
"Random guy yelled at Lil Wayne at #MiamiHEAT
game, Weezy looked back, gave him a mean stare &
gestured he had a gun," tweeted Vega, who said he
was at the game and sitting near Lil Wayne. "Weezy
just got into argument with security at the
#MiamiHEAT game. He got kicked out for gun
gesture."
This incident adds to the weird history Weezy has
with the Heat and its players. In a 2011 Rolling Stone
article, the rapper blasted Heat stars LeBron James
and Dwyane Wade.
"Them n----s never speak to a n---a," Lil Wayne said.
"They don't chunk me the deuce or nothing. N---a
spent all that money on them f-----g tickets...Come
holla at me. We sit right by them little b---h a-- n----s.
At least come ask me why I'm not rooting for you."
Oh, by the way, the Heat beat the Lakers 107-97.
